A Sewing Community Built on Experience and Trust
Jan 21, 2026Welcome to Creating with Lisa. I am glad you are here.
This sewing blog grew from more than thirty five years of real experience. I learned to sew beside my grandmother at her kitchen table. She taught me how to guide fabric, slow down, and finish each project with care. Those early lessons still shape how I sew and how I teach today.
Creating with Lisa exists to help you enjoy sewing without pressure or overwhelm.
You may sew for relaxation.
You may sew gifts for family and friends.
You may sew to sell and support your household.
Every one of those goals belongs here.
Over the years, I have sewn through many seasons. I sold during strong markets and slow ones. I worked part time and full time. I learned through mistakes, problem solving, and steady effort. I share those lessons so you can move forward with confidence and avoid common frustrations.
What You Will Find at Creating with Lisa
This space focuses on three core areas.
Practical sewing projects you can use right away.
These projects fit real scalreadyhedules and real budgets. Many use scraps or basic supplies you own. You do not need a large workspace or expensive tools to get started.
Honest guidance for selling sewn items.
If you want to sell your work, you will learn how to choose projects that make sense, work efficiently, and price with clarity. I focus on methods that hold up over time, not quick trends.
Encouragement and steady support.
Sewing should feel rewarding, not stressful. You do not need perfection to make something meaningful. You need a clear starting point and a simple plan.
If you feel stuck, start small.
Choose one project.
Use fabric you already have.
Finish one item before starting another.
Progress builds confidence.
I still learn something new every year. Sewing keeps me grounded and grateful. I believe sewing can bring calm, purpose, and pride to your days as well.
Thank you for being here. I hope this space feels like pulling up a chair and sewing with a friend.
